Abstract

Test Kitchen Melt and mix whole orange cake SERVES 12-16 PREP AND COOK TIME 1 HOUR 20 MINUTES (+ COOLING TIME) 30g very soft butter, for greasing 2 (480g) whole oranges 400g butter, extra, melted 6 eggs, lightly beaten 2 cups (440g) caster sugar 3 cups (450g) self-raising flour CITRUS ICING 1 (140g) lemon 1 (240g) orange 2 cups (320g) icing sugar mixture 1 Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). 3 Transfer orange pulp to a large bowl, whisk in butter, eggs, sugar and sifted flour until smooth. 3 Combine the butter, sugar and milk in a small saucepan; stir over low heat until butter has melted (do not boil). 4 Sift flour and cinnamon into a medium bowl; whisk in the eggs, butter mixture and the chopped walnuts.
