Alaska Requires DNA Be Collected From People Arrested for Violent Crimes. When announcing the indictment, the state Department of Lawsaid Mosley's DNA was collected under Alaska's DNAidentification law following his arrest in a2018 case unrelated to the sexual assaults. After police identified Mosley as a suspect in a 2017 rape duringtheir investigation, his DNA was finally collected and enteredinto the database in 2018, according to the Department of PublicSafety, leading to "hits" on DNA taken from rape victims in2009 and 2012.
