Abstract

The article focuses on the origins, impact and legacy of the Achillhenge, a concrete structure on Achill Island, Ireland. It highlights the economic conditions and urbanization of Ireland during the Celtic Tiger period, a name given to Ireland during its rapid economic growth during the years 1995-2007. It discusses the impact of the global financial crisis on rural communities and mental health of construction workers of Ireland in the year 2008.
