Abstract

The article describes the case of a 61-year-old woman diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and rhabdomyolysis caused by hypopituitarism. She, who consulted her cardiologist because of shortness of breath and chest pain, had arterial hypertension. Topics discussed include the diagnosis of central hypothyroidism, the connection between the heart and the thyroid system and the treatment of combined pituitary hormone deficiencies.
