Abstract

Dear sir, We were interested by the article from Yi et al on the association between diabetes and lung cancer.1 Although the relation was significant only for women, the studies included in the meta-analysis were heterogenous and significance was obtained in some subgroups, like overweighted subjects. Ten from the twelve subjects who developed a lung cancer had a previous skin autofluorescence higher than the median 2.60 AU value ( I P i = .032). Their accumulation in the skin of subjects with diabetes who developed a lung cancer, as we found, is probably not innocent. [Extracted from the article]
