Abstract
- The article explores the new scramble for Africa as governments announced an Africa+1 summit meeting. It compares the contemporary narrative around a new scramble with lines of competition and geopolitical rivalry among great powers in the continent. The involvement of foreign armed forces in the fight against terrorism is discussed, as well as the competition among African countries to attract foreign investment.
