Synthesis and photoluminescence of Eu2+ doped K2MgF4.

Till now very less literature is available for the compound K₂MgF₄, that too most of them are related to theoretical studies. We have attempted to synthesize this compound in our lab and studied its luminescence property by incorporating rare earth ion Eu²⁺ into its lattices. We have described synthesis process along with its XRD results confirming the formation of phase pure K₂MgF₄ compound in our sample. Further, may be first PL results on Eu²⁺ activated K₂MgF₄ have been reported. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
