Abstract

The article informs about primary tasks of the speech teacher is to help acting students identify current habitual patterns of speech production and execute speech sounds in new, nonhabitual ways that reflect the given circumstances of text, character, and performative situation. Topics include failure invites a closer examination of the mechanics of the sounds; and experiential exercises designed to bring awareness to the internal structures of the vocal tract.
