Abstract
- Focuses on the role of the U.S., as a member of the United Nations, with respect to international disputes. Effect of the referee attitude of the U.S. at the first session has been to maintain the status quo in Iran, Greece and Indonesia; Information that at the first session of the United Nations the U.S. devoted its attention to preventing Russia and Great Britain from coming to grips as a result of their rival ambitions; Statement that the U.S. has a stake in Indonesia in that the whole of Asia will judge the U.S. by whether it encourage or repress the yearnings of Eastern peoples for independence.
