Abstract

A visible-light-promoted carbocarboxylation of styrenes using CO<subscript>2</subscript> and amines is reported. The reaction is catalyzed by a photoredox catalyst and is compatible with a variety of amines and styrenes. This method affords highly functionalized γ-amino acids in good yields with high regioselectivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
