Abstract

The article explains different ways of creating disease models for COVID-19. Many of the models produced for COVID-19 are based on the traditional epidemiologic compartment model of disease, and such models help understand which variables affect disease behavior. Agent-based models compensate for the weakness of compartment models, which assume disease transmission through the mass action principle, by simulating the operations and interactions of those within a population.
