The Tragedy of SUDAN.

Reports on the violence of the ethnically Arab militia, the Jangaweed, which has resulted in the deaths of at least fifty thousand Africans in Darfur in the western Sudan. How 1.4 million people have been forced from their homes as a result of violence and the ensuing hunger and disease; Declaration by U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell that the Janjaweed and the Sudanese government should be held accountable for the genocide; Pledge of the U.S. to deploy several thousand African observers to monitor the violence; Failure of the administration of President George W.
