Abstract
- The article presents information on socio-political developments in the United States in the year 1951. The Congressional investigation of the U.S. general Douglas MacArthur controversy is getting a lot of publicity in the U.S. Congressional investigations run a cycle. First, the investigation is largely factual; then partisanship increases; then comes the big whoop-la, and finally a majority and minority report. The U.S. State Department is taking a firm stand on China, which seems to be insistence on keeping China out of the UN, threatening to bomb Chinese cities after all, and preparing to pal around again with the discredited regime of Chiang Kai-shek, on Formosa.
