Abstract
- The article focuses on the coverage given by the "Collier's" magazine in its October 27 issue looking back retrospectively from the year 1960 at the events leading up to World war III and to Russia's subsequent defeat and occupation. The author gives account of how his fellow historian in "Collier's" were able to meet the war half way. Bob Sherwood, a writer, who has taken time off writing plays to remind the "terrible Kremlin miscalculation" that led to the holocaust of May 10, 1952, and to the eventual crushing of Moscow. The author pays tribute all those historian and the Associated Press columnist Hal Boyle, who raised the anticipatory lust for revenge by describing how bombs reduced the Capital of Washington to ashes. The author opines that the editors of "Collier's" have neglected the chapter which was not a part of the fighting war but came a few months before it.
