The article examines the use of an experimental approach in the study of African politics. It discusses criticisms and suggests ways on how to overcome the challenge to the experimental method's use in studying politics by working with local communities during the research process. Possible challenges while working with local implementers include concerns about internal validity and relevance of the project to local populations.
