Abstract

This study is designed to detect the biological activity of Marjoram leaves against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria isolated from boxing students and the tools used by them of the second stage in the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, ALMustansiriyah University. This is done by preparing an aqueous extract of Marjoram leaves and using the Agar method. Then, the extract is compared to the sterile distilled water as a control. The inhibitory results of the extract were studied in various concentrations against Staphylococcus bacteria. The results showed an excellent inhibition area against this type of bacteria. The present studyconcludes the safe use and biological effectiveness of this extract, which can be used as a drug against such bacteria. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
