Abstract

The study include (10) ceca (5 right and 5 left cecum) collected from five cadavers of adult male ostriches (Struthio camelus). Aged between (4-5) years mean weight (92±0.32) the specimens washed and cleaned from blood and debris by using tape water. The anatomical description shape length, weight and width were taken from three region of each cecum (base, middle, apex). The study revealed that the right cecum longer than the left one the mean length of right cecum (34.248 cm) and the left cecum (25.10 cm) and the mean width of (base, middle, tip) of right cecum is (6.78, 5.3, 0.51 cm) and the mean width (base, middle, tip) of left cecum (4.95, 4.3, 0.38) the mean weight of right cecum is (317 gm) and the left cecum is 290gm.
