The article presents the author's vision of definitions of threat, risk, danger and decentralization. The three most important blocks of the internal structure of the economic security of the region are revealed, the ways in which the economic security of the region is manifested, which must be ensured by a set of economic, environmental, legal, geopolitical and other conditions. The components of economic security at the regional level, as well as the range of threats, identification of which will reduce their negative impact are identified. According to the definition of threat, their classification by species is defined.
