Abstract
- Green IS is an emerging research field, addressing pressing matters such as resource efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate change. However, the topic of environmental sustainability is a cross cutting issue, leading to a somewhat fragmented research discourse. For instance, researchers investigating Sustainable Mobility and Sharing Economy might not be aware of research in the context of Green IS for Behaviour Changes. In this context, achieving interconnections of Green IS research sub-communities is necessary to reach a high level of sophistication on how to prevent our natural environment from deteriorating. Therefore, in order to gain a comprehensive overview of the body of Green IS research, this study follows a four staged research approach including a structured literature review, a citation network analysis, a concept centric content analysis, and a citation relationship analysis of Green IS research. Through this rigorous research approach, research streams, influential research papers, and the relationships between the different research areas were identified. Subsequently, this allows for the elicitation and formulation of research gaps, providing guidance for future research by formulating avenues for future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
