Sophisticated EHRs and integrated LCS software systems should universally support established practice standards in the most basic LCS services and more comprehensive LCS programs. Most proprietary LCS software systems are designed to capture and transfer digital imaging and radiology report information from local or independent diagnostic testing facilities, and autopopulate and autointegrate LCS patient and imaging data into the LCS software system. Thus, information regarding the patient's navigation through the LCS program may not be accessible to providers who have access to the EHR but who do not have access to the LCS software system.
