A novel A allele with c.467C > T and c.784G > A nucleotide substitutions in Korean individuals.

The ABO blood group is the most important blood group system, and accurate ABO typing is essential for safe transfusion and transplantation. The novel I A i allele showed nucleotide I c.467C > T i and I c.784G > A i substitutions in the background of the I A1.01 i allele, resulting in p.Pro156Leu and p.Asp262Asn amino acid substitutions.
