Abstract
- Here, we report magnetoresistance of studies on polycrystalline sample of Fe<subscript>0.29</subscript>TaS<subscript>2</subscript>. Temperature dependence of resistance shows negative temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) above 90 K. Below 90 K, where it is reported to be ferromagnetic, resistance decreases rapidly with decrease in temperature. The isothermal magnetoresistance (MR) behavior at 5K is typical of ferromagnetic metal with large coercively (H<subscript>C</subscript>∼5 Tesla) with positive MR around H<subscript>C</subscript>. The H<subscript>C</subscript> and the positive contribution to MR decreases with increase in temperature. The MR appears too similar to that observed for polycrystalline manganite with maxima around T<subscript>C</subscript> and significant constant negative contribution at low temperature due to intergrain tunneling.
