Abstract

Single phase ZnWO<subscript>4</subscript> microwave dielectric ceramic was prepared by a traditional solid-state method, which possesses the monoclinic wolframite structure. The lattice vibrational modes were obtained by Raman and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, whose phonon characteristics were analyzed by identification and description of the vibrational modes. Furthermore, the intrinsic properties of Single phase ZnWO<subscript>4</subscript> was simulated based on FTIR data, and the contribution of each vibrational mode to the intrinsic properties was analyzed, in particular. The theoretical property values, calculated by the Clausius–Mossotti and damping equations, agree well with the data fitted by the four-parameter semi-quantum model according to FTIR spectrum.
