Abstract

Chapter 5 reviews the architecture, and hardware and software elements of a recently developed testbed that can be used for subjective and objective evaluation of VoIP services. By using suitable routing configuration of the access switch (e.g., a PBX), it is possible to route a telephone call either over a circuit-switched (PSTN) network or over a packet-switched, e.g., an IP-based network. The services include real-time voice transmission and DTMF based interaction with IVR units for completing transaction. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
