Abstract
- This article focuses on several developments in the U.S. and around the world, as of September 28, 1865. Saint Louis is very naturally exulting in the completion of the Missouri link of the Pacific Railroad, by which the city hopes to recover the distance gained over it by Chicago during the war. This portion of the grand line, which connects Saint Louis and Kansas City, has been fifteen years building, latterly, of courses under the most adverse circumstances. Another development focuses on the statement by the Commissioner of Agriculture, in which he stated that while the wheat crop has received no further detriment, its quality is still inferior, especially in the West, where it was affected by blight and rust.
