Abstract

This article presents information regarding relationship between the U.S. and Great Britain. There has been something like a panic in regard to 5-20 bonds in England and, in short, the prospect of increasing difficulty in relations of Great Britain with the U.S. has caused more apprehension and annoyance than on any recent occasion. One circumstance which has contributed very greatly to this state of feeling has been a letter from, Goldwin Smith. English feeling upon the subject. Nothing is more desirable than an increase of friendliness between the two countries, not merely for the obvious reasons which have been put forward in dozens of after-dinner orations, including those of poor Reverdy Johnson, but because they are singularly well fitted to correct each other's failings.
