Abstract
- An interview with Jody Gerson, chairman and chief executive officer of Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) and "Billboard" magazine's Executive of the Year in 2020, is presented. She describes the early changes that spurred the revenue growth of UMPG after her appointment in 2015. Gerson explains the work of the She Is the Music group she co-founded in 2018 in supporting women in the music industry. She also discusses the impact of the influx of private equity coming into publishing.
