Abstract
- By adjusting carboxylates, six Cd(II) coordination polymers based on a naphthalene–methylene mixed-bridged-amide ligand, [Cd(L)(DNBA)<subscript>2</subscript>] (1), [Cd<subscript>2</subscript>(L)<subscript>2</subscript>(BDC)<subscript>2</subscript>(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)<subscript>2</subscript>]·2H<subscript>2</subscript>O (2), [Cd(L)(1,4-CHDA)] (3), [Cd(L)(HIPA)(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)]·H<subscript>2</subscript>O (4), [Cd(L)(MIP)]·H<subscript>2</subscript>O (5), and [Cd(L)(PMA)<subscript>0.5</subscript>(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)]·H<subscript>2</subscript>O (6) [L = N,N′-bis(4-methylenepyridin-4-yl)-1,4-naphthalene dicarboxamide, HDNBA = 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid, H<subscript>2</subscript>BDC = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid, 1,4-H<subscript>2</subscript>CHDA = 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, H<subscript>2</subscript>HIPA = 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, H<subscript>2</subscript>MIP = 5-methylisophthalic acid and H<subscript>4</subscript>PMA = pyromellitic acid] have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. 1 shows a 4-c sql coplanar structure. 2 exhibits a 2-fold vertical interpenetrating structure based on wave-like 4-c sql layers. 3 shows a (3,5)-c pnh network containing a unique μ<subscript>3</subscript>-L. 4 features a 4-c sql wave-like network. 5 and 6 exhibit 3D structures with 6-c pcu and 4-c mog topologies. The number of carboxyl groups and functional group positions of the carboxylates have an important influence on the structures of the title complexes. The fluorescent responses of 1–6 towards Fe<superscript>3+</superscript>, anions, aspartic acid and bovine serum albumin were investigated. Among them, 4 shows sensitivity and selectivity (K<subscript>SV</subscript> = 1.16 × 10<superscript>4</superscript> L mol<superscript>−1</superscript> for Fe<superscript>3+</superscript>, 1.03 × 10<superscript>4</superscript> L mol<superscript>−1</superscript> for CrO<subscript>4</subscript><superscript>2−</superscript>, 1.08 × 10<superscript>4</superscript> L mol<superscript>−1</superscript> for Cr<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>7</subscript><superscript>2−</superscript>, 1.17 × 10<superscript>4</superscript> L mol<superscript>−1</superscript> for MnO<subscript>4</subscript><superscript>−</superscript> and 1.05 × 10<superscript>4</superscript> L mol<superscript>−1</superscript> for aspartic acid).
