SENTINELLA E AVANGUARDIE. CROCE E IL FUTURISMO.

Starting from the case study of Futurism, the paper focuses on the controversial relationship between Croce and the contemporary avant-garde art. Croce's "passatism" is actually his historicism, a perspective from which futurists seem to be affected by a severe illness: anti-historicism. The paper analyses this ideological opposition (historicism/anti-historicism; thought and action/ activism; futurism/passatism; unique/typical; bourgeois and liberal world/revolution and youth), touching upon its political implications.
