Abstract
- The article reports on monetary theory and search theory and discusses the paper, "Search, Money, and Capital: A Neoclassical Dichotomy" by S. Boragan Aruoba and Randall Wright. The money search model developed by Aruoba and Wright uses a centralized market and is similar to a neoclassical macro model. Aruoba and Wright also establish a dichotomy in the value of money and the value of capital. Capital, essential in a central market for production, has no standing in a decentralized sector of production.
