Abstract

Criticizes the actions and decisions made by the panel making up the Copenhagen Consensus which was set up by the Danish Environmental Assessment Institute to identify priorities for global action regarding poverty, health, hunger and the environment. Problem with the decision to allocate an additional $50 billion in spending by wealthy countries to address the world's biggest problems; Failure to mobilize an expert group that could credibly identify and communicate a true consensus of expert knowledge; Problems in the panel's conclusions which were at odds with the evidence under consideration.
