Abstract

Points out that rekeying estimates that automotive body repair shops could be receiving electronically from insurers is costing the industry an estimated $17 million or more each year, according to a Collision Industry Conference (CIC) committee. Survey of shop owners by CIC's Information Technology Committee; Finding that on average, shops have to rekey data from printed insurer estimates into their own estimating systems for about 28 percent of their jobs.
