Abstract
- Although labor and working conditions are generally specified when an English Language Teacher (ELT) is hired, not many schools follow these job specifications in the real practice, the reasons for this are diverse in the educative system. This paper aims at exploring what teachers consider satisfying and challenging conditions from a work place and the reasons that have made them change their jobs. Online structured questionnaires with open-ended questions were conducted with four ELTs. Those teachers have worked in public and private schools of diverse educative levels in the State of Mexico. This study was carried out under a qualitative paradigm while exploring the teachers' perceptions of working conditions. The recollections were read and compared by coding the data from the questionnaires. The findings mean to show reasons of teachers' drop out. Implications will be drawn throughout the analysis of the questionnaires and suggestions for future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
