Abstract

For years, people and organizations have made sizeable investments to help others rise out of poverty. Money has been poured into the education systems, health care offerings, and infrastructures of impoverished countries, but few of these countries show signs of sustainable economic progress. In The Prosperity Paradox, Clayton M. Christensen, Efosa Ojomo, and Karen Dillon prescribe a new approach for lasting economic prosperity. Their research shows the transformative power of market-creating innovations in building up these nations and how the cultural shifts that those innovations can inspire may be the difference between economic poverty and future prosperity.
