Abstract

Myomectomy is a therapeutic option for fertile women with symptomatic myoma. Although a laparoscopic myomectomy is preferred to a laparotomic myomectomy, laparoscopic removal with myoma morcellation risks an incomplete removal and the scattering of small pieces of myoma in the abdominal cavity. If a patient with a history of myomectomy or hysterectomy presents with an abdominal mass or abdominal pain, doctors should consider iatrogenic parasitic myoma. [Extracted from the article]
