Abstract

A simple technique to measure spontaneous Brillouin scattering in perfluorinated GI-POF with improved signal-to-noise ratio at a wavelength of 1310 nm and with low pump-power is proposed. Reduction of the background noise is achieved by intensity modulation of the backscattered Stokes component and lock-in detection at the modulation frequency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
