Abstract

Geo-questionnaires are increasingly frequently used for geo-referenced studies. Their results can provide the basis for the GIS multi-criteria analysis model, and particularly for the determination of the spatial weights of criteria significance based on proximity adjusted preferences. In the developed method, a ranking of criteria was created based on the results of a geo-questionnaire. The determined weights of criteria significance were then spatially varied based on the analysis of locations indicated in the geoquestionnaire. The maps of criteria layers incorporated expert knowledge, and the spatial varied weights incorporated preferences of a group of students. This permits linking information on preferences of a group of residents with expert information indicating the suitability of the area. The study involved the analysis of housing preferences of students of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
