Abstract
- In this paper, studies on the preparation and properties of barium sodium titanate niobate and poly(vinylidenefluoride) (PVDF) bulk composites are reported. SEM images show ceramic particles incorporated into the PVDF matrix in a 0–3 connectivity. FTIR results reveal that BTNN was formed without undesirable phases and that the β-phase of polymer is present. Dielectric studies show a relaxor ferroelectric behavior with a real dielectric constant of ∼56 (300 K at 1 kHz) and a maximum dielectric loss of 7%. This value is the highest among those reported for PVDF-ceramic composites with 30% of ceramic phase in their matrices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
