Abstract

The article reports on the findings that water filters supplied by the city of Newark, New Jersey, may be ineffective. The city conducted tests of tap water in 1,400 homes. The filters were provided as part of the city's effort to limit lead exposure. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), water from two homes had exceeded federal and state lead standards.
