Abstract

The article offers information on 'neglect' which is the most commonly experienced form of maltreatment for children of all ages. Topics include, beginning of research to highlight the harmful effects of neglect between the ages of 11 and 17; and fundamental difficulty for practitioners and researchers has been the challenge of defining ‘neglect'; and child protection plans in Great Britain.
