Abstract

The article focuses on maternal nutrition and programming of offspring energy requirements and managing nutrient supply to match demand is critical for sustainable and efficient livestock production. It mentions livestock can often experience a poor or compromised nutritional environment during gestation and increased risk of health complications throughout life. It also mentions effects of fetal nutrient restriction during gestation depend on timing.
