Abstract
- In the article author provides an overview of some world-conceptions, both in contemporary world literature debates and in the philosophy of Hannah Arendt. Topics discussed include that author argues in favour of a multiple-level understanding of literary world-making; and author's empirical case is the South African literary journal Staffrider; and vernacular valence which derives to no small degree from its commitment to literature.
