Abstract

The article presents the conversation the author had with people on the general conditions in war-torn Chile. In the mountainous region of Chile, children are breast fed till the age of one year as there is other source of milk because there is no pastures in those parts of the country to feed the cattle. After their first years infants food as their elders. The children are hardy and they usually do not fall sick. The family with which the author had conversation had fallen ill at cotton farms before they came to the lumber camp.
