Introduction.

This article presents information regarding an International Conference on Periodontal Clinical Trials organizes by American Dental Association. The goals of this Conference are to clarify and elaborate on the role of various indices as measuring instruments of different aspects of periodontal diseases, and to establish guidelines for the conduct of clinical trials of agents used in the prevention/treatment of periodontal diseases.
