Abstract
- The article presents information on the book "Into Work," by Michael Carter. It is a highly readable attempt to analyze the factors affecting the allocation of young workers to jobs in contemporary Great Britain, to relate behavior at work to the adequacy of this procedure and to describe its human consequences. The book is a model of what popular applied sociology should be.
