Abstract

Two new examples of cyanido-bridged {Fe<superscript>III</superscript>Ln<superscript>III</superscript>}<subscript>2</subscript> molecular squares, with pyim and PPh<subscript>3</subscript>O as capping ligands at the Ln<superscript>III</superscript> sites, exhibit weak antiferromagnetic interactions [Ln = Eu (1), Sm (2), pyim = 2-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)pyridine, PPh<subscript>3</subscript>PO = triphenylphosphine oxide].
