Abstract

In the field of education, calm and well balanced considerations might naturally be expected to prevail. Teaching is out of the oldest pursuits in which men engage. It is a pursuit, to which a long line of philosophers have devoted close attention, and concerning which they have left the results of their observation and thinking for the benefit of later generations. This aspect of education is the subject of an address "On a Certain Arrogance in Educational Theorists" which is published in the last number of the journal "Educational Review."
