Abstract

This paper aims to examine whether cultural differences have an impact on Behavioral Information Security. For this purpose, the authors used ANOVA to investigate if individuals act securely through a survey among three dimensions defined by Hofstede, which are Individualism versus Collectivism (IDV), Uncertainty Avoidance Index (UAI) and Indulgence versus Restraint (IND). It was found that individuals with collectivism, high UAI and restraint cultural features act more securely than those without these cultural features. The results also revealed that the main effects of IDV and IND, the interaction of IDV and UAI, IDV, UAI and IND, have a significant impact on behavioral information security. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
