An Important Congress of Historians.

The article focuses on the book entitled "The Pacific Ocean in History." The book has been edited by H. Morse Stephens and Herbert E. Bolton. But the greatest shortcoming of this stout volume of twenty nine addresses and papers is its very misleading title. The book presents very creditably some of the results being achieved by those engaged in developing the resources of the Bancroft Collection at Berkeley. The twenty-four papers read at the special sessions of the U.S. Congress fall into six groups, devoted to various areas of the North Pacific littorals.
