- The article cites estimates by the financial firm Wells Fargo & Co. to state that the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) was expected to reinstate the purchase of large-scale bond-buying as early as 2020, which could add over $2 trillion to its holdings of Treasury debt, but that the action would not be labeled quantitative easing (QE).
